Basalt is a collection of dyed-in-the-mass culinary porcelain which mimics natural slate. It may look the same, but it has the advantages of porcelain. Basalt does not scratch or crumble. It is designed with a slight concave shape to keep the juices from spilling and is completely non-porous, so will not absorb grease or bacteria.
